Define the Problem:Design and build a syringe powered arm that can assemble a block tower in the least amount of time.

- color code syringes to define functions
- claw with fingers
- claw with two sides
- sideways claw
- arm made of popsickles sticks
- arm made of plywood
- dowell rod to twist arm
- plywood base
Research:Here's how the gripper works. As the syringe's plunger moves out, the rubber band pulls the fingers shut. When you pull the plunger back the pink strings pull studs on the rear part of the fingers together, thus opening the other end. A cotter pin acts as a crude pulley because I was running out of room to route
the string.
the string.

Syringes are used to move the wooden arm.
Syringe A moves the arm up and down, while syringe B moves the hand in and out to fit the block.

Criteria and Constraints:
Has to be able to assemle a three foot tower. Two people have to operate the robot. The blocks have to be in size order.
It has to be under five minutes or less. Can only use eight syringes. One piece of plywood along with dowell rod. And anything you bring from home.

Final Solution:

-claw with two sides/sideways claw
-dowell rod to twist arm

Design Proposal:
Who? Madison, Juliana, Ben
What? Design a robotic arm capable of picking up three different sized blocks
Where? In the tech ed room
When? Until the week before finals
Why? To learn how robot arms function and how to make them better.
How? By using the machines and tools provided with the limited supplies we have.
